i'm going to find another note taking application for linux. what one that lets me add images.my current note taking application is gxe, but it's text only.of course i will search and try some out.would also welcome suggestions if anyone cares to offer some up.

@fitheach @ParadeGrotesque mine is from i format i created in 1993. the delimiter being the first byte of the string. that way the creator of the data can decide

@fitheach @ParadeGrotesque Not knowing and also not wanting to code for another way, every line can contain a different delimiter if the creator wants. So if you have embedded commas you can chose |\+-_ or any of slew of other characters for the delimiter. All rows can have the same delimiter. Up to the creator really.I've used this extensively on the mainframe for string replacements and also to programs that manipulate "spreadsheets"

@clacke This time it is true.Seems clear to me that what's different this types of iterations this time is that with every incremental improvement of AI more of the work that would require humans can be done by AI.We will run out of the next thing for humans to replace their current role with.Hope I'm gone before we find out if we can handle the transition.

@ErikUden I completely agree. That's the reason they were losing me. What sealed the deal for me was Israel. While I never could vote for Trump, the Biden/Harris stance on Israel made it so I could also not vote for Harris either.

@salad_bar_breath IDK, I looked into Hoopla a couple of years ago and found out we were limited to 3 watches per month and it was pretty costly to our library. If I remember correctly, they were being charged $2 per view.I'm thinking free as is beer alternatives such as PlutoTV and Tubi might be a better option.

@angiebaby or otherwise making it so you can no longer use the thing.Things that come to mind include.1. Shutting down 'phone home' servers.2. Changing the terms of service and not giving the user the option to opt out.3. Blocking users ability to repair.4. Simply stop supporting it.All of the above could be resolved by letting the user community support the thing.
