@codesections @beadsland Don't fret, every year has been an improvement on the desktop space for Linux . We got System76, Mintboxes, Tux computers and Starlabs, to name a few. That are selling computers with Linux preinstalled. Remember we are the 3%. 😎

@redstarfish Free software, open source software and libre software are all part of the same definition. Furthermore, their only defining difference is with the use of their terminology.

@ataraxia937 I mean FreeBSD has the most software compared to any of the other BSDs. Plus there is a Linux compatibility layer and the port system, for those applications that haven't been made natively available, which is present among all BSDs.

@pookito @MichaelA I don't see what is wrong with the normalization gay relationships.People should be treated as human beings irregardless of their sexual orientation. We, at the end of the day, all belong under the same species and should treat each other with the same amount of generousity and acceptance. Rather than forming barriers, try creating new bonds. There is already alot of hate and bigotry in this world, so why do you wish to continue on spreading it.

@lunduke I disagree. No single entity (or groups for that matter) can accurately judge the market share for Linux. The fact of the matter is that, for the most part, Linux isn't sold in retail nor can one use the amount of times a person downloads an image from the distro's website as a factor. Other analytics, such as using web measurement methods, are often focused on North American markets & less so worldwide in places like Europe or China, where there have been greater adoption.

@FuchsiaShock Toxic masculinity leads to darwinism for one must have an overinflated ego if they don't think they should follow proper health procedures.

@oleg Switter.at is the most popular Mastodon instance for adult content but it is more used for workers in the adult entertainment industry. Sinblr.com is somewhat popular, but its way more casual, but less professional (think of it as how tumblr was before the NSFW purge). Art Alley (artalley.social) is like Mastodon Art but it allows for 18+ content to be on the site. Those are quick summaries of each that I know of, there is probably much more out there.

@art Typically, upgrading specialialized hardware can be problematic, new software would tend to require a new set of hardware, which would have to new drivers implemented to support said hardware since it's spexialized, which would increase the downtime, that businesses don't have any room to have or consist of software only designed to run on an older version of their OS, along other reasons. It is a large risk both financially and have plethora of risks in terms of stability.

@art I had a portable one a few year ago, when companies use to include it in the packaging. But eventually I lost it, still have no idea where it was to this day.
