One really nice thing about the new furniture arrangement is that I can lean over the back of my work chair and pet Ginza if she's on the end of the bed atop her heating pad. She seems to like that too.

This is my hard working hardly working coworker who has my back, as in she naps on the end of the bed behind me and where I can lean over the back of my chair and pet her. #CatsOfMastodon She's the best coworker I've ever had.

I've already eaten breakfast, 2nd breakfast, and a snack. Now going to eat lunch.I'm hungry and being an off day from doing any cycling, it's a good day to get lots of calories and nutrients in me.

Absolutely gorgeous weather here today. If I were younger, I'd probably go for cycling no matter the fact that I can feel that I'm knackered today.The prior 4 days I rode 60 miles and did more hill climbing than ever.Still, I'll likely take a very slow very leisurely walk after work is done. It would be a shame not to soak up the sun we're getting here today.

Walked a mile after work, leisurely pace, just wanted to help blood circulate down into the legs and move them along in recovery from the 4 prior days.Ate dinner soon after that. I've eaten 4 meals today so plenty of calories and nutrients. Assuming a night of decent sleep, I think I'll wake up tomorrow with a body battery at least in the 80s. That will set me up to cycle tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday, with the longer harder effort on Wednesday.

@futurebird Pica is probably playing a game. Cats love playing games.I had a cat who loved cuddling and sitting in my lap. But when he got old, he began to be unable to make the jump from the floor up into my lap. The two of us ending up developing a game where he would come meowing and circling around me, staying just out of reach. I would drop one of my hands and look away from him, waiting til he would brush against my hand. Then I'd reach over with the other hand, pick him up, put on lap.

I'm awake. I've eaten breakfast and have fed Ginza hers. Slept in til 7 this morning, Ginza was beside me all night as best I know. She didn't even try poking at me to wake me up for her breakfast.I walked and cycled yesterday, the weather was fairly dry. It looks like I might be able to do the same today, though there'll be the chance of showers.

@PhoenixSerenity I coaxed a feral cat to come live indoors in 2023 and 2024. It's a slow process but it's worth it to see her enjoying a much more comfortable life now and she's been showing more and more sweetness as time passes by.Here's a picture of this once feral but sweet girl.

We've had more sunshine this spring than last year, my first spring in the PNW. I'm grateful for that. Though it's been a challenge in how as I've gotten old, my skin has become more sensitive to sunlight and if I get too much early on, I don't simply burn but break out into a rash and hives.I've been using a lot of sunscreen, trying to make sure I remember to slather myself in it before going out in sunshine, and reapplying every 2 to 3 hours.

Felt like the bad nights of sleep laid the hammer on me this afternoon and I took a nap.I fell asleep and napped so hard that I woke up confused, because I didn't remember that I had gotten in bed to nap.

@futurebird You probably should have just put the couch cover in its folded up state atop the couch for a day or two and said, with Pica within earshot, "Oh it might be terrible if Pica were to start sitting atop the new couch cover before I put it on!" She would have then been obligated to sit atop and get her scent on it and she might have been very happy to see it then used to cover the couch.
