@yurnidiot Videos like this have been shown to increase demand for wildlife trafficking for the pet trade. No one wants a panther until they see shit like this. Panthers are NOT pets, and interacting with them in this way is unethical. I used to be a zookeeper for panthers (I did quit because of ethics), and this makes me angry.

@Adam_Cadmon1 @sidereal My mental health is so rotten because I feel like I'm in panic/crisis mode when everyone else gets super complacent after Biden's election wins. He does the same shit the GOP does in more indirect ways, like, he's sneakier (union busting, fossil fuels, immigration, genocide, carcereal systems). I am so jaded that Trump winning almost feels better because then everyone is mad and starts really resisting, which feels better to me, like a more normal response. Misery loves company and all that. I feel so alone and crazy when everyone is relieved and I'm still freaking out. But I am privileged. I won't have to move to escape oppression if Trump wins. But then I think how people are doing that even with Biden in office, and I throw my hands up in the air and fuck it. At this point I am wanting people to rise up. I don't think they ever will against Biden. I am ready to rip the bandaid off.

But the cost is so scary. But I am even more scared of revolution NOT happening.

@holyramenempire @freakazoid @sidereal @Adam_Cadmon1 I just think watching countries switch to our uniquely American flavor of capitalism is how we got here (gestures at the whole world) and is where we'll stay without literally starting from scratch. I don't see that happening without collapse. It all sounds horrible. I don't like it. But all I can do to stop from losing my mind is be hopeful about it.

@the_Effekt Hoarding is a form of OCD, which is a mental illness that requires drug therapy. Otherwise, the folks with it cannot help it. It is not a character flaw or a choice, like being rich. Please do not do folks with mental illness this way. School shootings are not a mental illness, and neither is owning super yachts. I am tired of people stigmatizing mental illness.

If you know someone who hoards pets, then they need to be medicated for OCD. If they specifically hoard cats, get them tested for toxoplasmosis. It can make infected hosts attracted to cat urine.
