@thelinuxcast An addendum, if the free version of Resolve can't do that or you want chapters without uploading directly to YouTube it just takes a few more steps and a spreadsheet.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qjh2WxA7W8E

@thelinuxcast Congratulations on Studio version. I think Resolve is legit about to change your (editing) life, lol. Editing with audio transcriptions is massive time saver for podcast and longer videos. Voice isolation is perfect if you're still having audio noise creep into recordings. So many qol features at your disposal now.

@thelinuxcast That does seem overly large, which settings are you using for you renders?

@thelinuxcast Hmm, as you're using the studio version mp4 should be available on Linux. Give me just a sec to look into it.

@thelinuxcast Very possible. I had issues with Resolve in the AUR being out of date so used the installer from Black Magic. I had to move a few files that was included because they're older than my system's version but no issues other than that.

@thelinuxcast Which gpu are you using on your editing machine? I seem to recall Resolve having problems with Amd but looking now to confirm that and find workarounds if so.

@thelinuxcast I'll see what I can find. If you need it rendered soon it may be worth the trouble of archiving the project and transferring it to the Windows box. The Studio licenses comes with 2 uses so you can have it on Linux and Windows concurrently.

@thelinuxcast Archiving will package the project and media files up simple and easy for you, automatically. Sounds like you got to the same place exporting it. Video on the subject for future reference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSDWdI-PDCQ

@thelinuxcast I can't find anything conclusive about AMD online but if I select MP4 or H.264/H.265 my only encoder option under Linux is NVIDIA. Without access to those I wouldn't know the best alternative encoding settings but I'm sure we could work something out in time.

@thelinuxcast It's quite easy. You can either select Help and Deactivate License to free up that use, this is the official way. I've also forgot to do this before trying a new distro and Resolve will just say you're using more than your 2 limit so it deactivats older ones for you. I have swapped my 2 uses probably 30+ times now, a complete non issue.

@thelinuxcast Think of the 2 uses limit as 2 active at the same time, not 2 installs.

@thelinuxcast lol, now that's a trip down memory lane. I think you'll find Black Magic to be one of the most customer focused companies and just "good guys" companies out there.

@thelinuxcast That would be nice. I don't know what their future plans are but do know that had a full on Rocky Linux ISO with Resolve you could download from them in the past.

@thelinuxcast Just for completeness sake here's rendering options under Windows. Notice I have an Intel option from the integrated gpu in addition to an Nvidia gpu option:

@thelinuxcast If you have the time then installing Linux to the mini computer with the Nvidia gpu is an option. You're already comfortable with running Resolve on Linux and that would "fix" the Amd issue.

@thelinuxcast It's my pleasure bud. I know what a headache editing video can be and think us editing Linux fans have to help each other out.
