Everything that is wrong with the UK, with politicians and the media who are happy to stir up racial tensions, with a lack of education for many and with social media there to amplify their hateful views. The post from Twitter is a big reason why many of us left that platform.

We are all far far closer to being disabled and in poverty than we are to being billionaires. Think on this when very wealthy politicians support the wishes of billionaires when attacking those in poverty and the disabled rather than those who live their lives in luxury. We live in terrifying times. Every day we watch as Israel commits more and more crimes while those in power in the west clamp down on protest and arrest ordinary folk. On the home front the norm has become boost the rich at the expense of the poor and othering minorities. Is this a window into our times? The people in power watch how the world reacts to extremism. Might they be calculating just what else they can get away with? Has the sleepwalk towards fascism become a goose-step march?

Great lies.Many who support London rule for Scotland (seemingly forever) tell us that Scotland cannot afford independence. They never explain how countries of a similar size to, or smaller than, Scotland can afford independence, nor do they ever speak about Scotland's natural resources. No, apparently, we are too poor. This is despite the fact that the Scottish government has a legal obligation to balance its books and is allocated debt from England's spending. Too poor? Aye right.#Scotland

@futurebird Wasn't the US defining principles that all men were created equal and endowed with unalienable rights, including Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness?
