I honestly hope Elon goes through with starting a new political party. Even though he's a grifter fraud who got rich off his mommy's money and bought into the right companies at the right time to convince enough investors that he was some kind of genius and fund his Ambien addiction-fueled pet projects; he is still one of the only people who could realistically make a viable third American political party happen functionally, and it's something the US has needed for a long time.Also it'll be hilarious. I can't wait for the debates between Gavin Newsom, JD Vance, and Joe Rogan. :agummypopcorn:

@coolboymew That is a fair point, but it's still hot garbage that he had to deal with any of that bullshit in the first place.My problem is more the "guilty until proven innocent" principle that Nintendo can just decide to brick your console whenever it feels like it, and you have to be on the defensive to get back the functionality of the the thing you payed for. Nintendo's been on an anti-consumer streak for a long time and the recent Switch 2 fiascos have just been the final straw for me.Although granted, Xbox is laying off all its staff and replacing them with AI, and PS5's are literally exploding and still have two games, so it's not like anyone else is doing a whole lot better this gen. :shrug_yui:

@coolboymew That's a good point, those things were notoriously super easy to hack.My problems with modern Ninetndo go way deeper than that though: shutting down fan-games, going after emulation while not providing reliable games preservation efforts themselves, generally having a archaic and overprotective perspective on IP, etc.

@anemone I'd honestly be more surprised if he doesn't.Trump isn't going to pull the "trying for a third term" trigger because 1: the optics would be so bad even he would realize it, and 2: he's old and probobly doesn't want to. JD Vance is a total loser and everyone hates him, so running him is admitting defeat; and the R base no longer will accept anyone who isn't at very least Trump-like and he's the only game in town.

@Ergo @anemone I think it's more likely to be a Tucker vs. Newsom election, since as trash as he is, he's a charismatic looking white guy who most non-terminally online people atleast know the name of, and that's honestly all you need for most Americans.

I don't really like to talk politics, etc. much on here anymore because my opinions on... everything are so much different now, most much much further left, from when I was more right leaning/libertarian on here; but I still enjoy a lot of my old mutuals' non-pol posts, or just like them as people, so I'd rather not start unnecessary fights.
