Anyone recommend for or against the Jonathan Cahn book mentioned by Adam on the show? I’ve read some of his older stuff and had kind of mixed feeling. On a side note that was a peculiar part of the show, Adam sounded especially nervous, John cracked a Pat Robertson joke and the guys rebounded like pros

@demitasse interesting just looked that up. So he predicts every 7 years from 9/11 there is a calamity since we are not honoring the shemitah (a period of sabbath/rest for the land). I mean 2022 had its share of calamities but that theory seems a bit suspect. He lost me after reading the Harbinger and it’s praise for the USA’s ‘secret origin.’ He goes on to praise the founding fathers and their noble dedication of state to God- with no mention whatsoever of freemasonry

@CatLord @EHP @Crux_Invictus this was a very fun discussion chain for me to read through. I am a believer and struggle with many of the same questions. And if you read the accounts of Yeshua/Jesus, the work of the cross is much more mysterious as well. I would just like to point out to colorcat that ranson theory also has some merits. He accuses man of any wrongdoing upon his death, and in this way ‘owns’ the soul of departed humans who are continually racked with guilt over the wrongdoing they are accused of in the hereafter. So now Yeshua, I’m sharing his spirit with us, allows us to live in union with his perfect resurrected spirit.

@Xenophon friendly note to urge you to reconsider your views. To claim to speak for God, the creator of all, is a bold and fearful thing- we will all have to answer for. And to propagate hate in His name, I urge you to reconsider. God loves his covenant people Israel, and will redeem them in His time and for His glory (see Romans).

@Xenophon see Revelation 2:9 ‘I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.’ Just because much evil is done by those who act as ‘Jews’ does not condemn the entire people. I think the scriptures are clear, though widely mid-interpreted

@Xenophon interesting perspective- Hyrcanus was infamous for forcing the conversion of the Edomites to Judaism (~100BC). You think they totally replaced all the Jews? I saw it as a major corruption of the people, as evidenced by Jesus/Yeshua’s words, but not a total replacement. And then of course many went on to follow their Messiah and many denied Him. Interested in your perspective if you want to point me to some resources…Have a great rest of the week as well.

@Xenophon I think you put the nail on the head when you referenced Jesus saying ‘many of them are not His sheep, but of Satan’. Also, His famous discourse that many will come to Him saying ‘Lord, Lord’, and He will say, ‘get away from me you workers of iniquity I never knew you’. See also, ‘truly, as you did to the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ He is not simply condemning a group of men by their nationality- but by their faith, and faith in action or lack thereof.

@Xenophon ‘love one another, as I have loved you’. His love he commands us to is radical- there are no exceptions for the Edomites or Jews or any group of people. We are to love them all and fight the forces of darkness on the spiritual level with His strength- see Ephesians armor of God. The time is now to repent and follow His Way for fighting the darkness in this world- I want you on His team, brother. Be known by God- turn from hate for any person and receive His love and Spirit

@Xenophon we live in a physical world, but there is much more going on at the spiritual level. You asked how a sheep can be a goat and likewise. Reading Matthew 25 31:46 describes how many will be judged and separated as sheep and goats. Is this based on how they were physically born or spiritually born? They are judged on their fruits, how they treated their least brethren. When we receive God’s Spirit we can love Edomites and all with His grace. See the parable of the Good Samaritan as well

@Xenophon there are natural branches, Israel, and wild branches, Gentiles, grafted in. This is thoroughly described in Romans 11. In fact, this is a huge part of Acts and many of Paul’s letters. Also see Deuteronomy 23:7 ‘Do not despise an Edomite, for the Edomites are related to you. Do not despise an Egyptian, because you resided as foreigners in their country.’ God has had enemies to deal with throughout history for His glory. He does not call upon you to hate but to follow His Son with love
