@josh given what you are looking for by way of pistols, one may wish to look at .40 sw models.the .40 offers more punch than the 380 and 9mm. greater velocity than the 45 at the cost of point plank stopping power.one could purchase a small frame single stack for cc and a large frame double stack for general use (drum magazines are general use, right?)two pistols, 1 ammo can, just a thought.

@postShitter I've been doing a few calibration prints recently and had some issues with the pla not sticking to the glass. In the past I had dissolved some abs in acetone, a very thin mixture and painted a film on the glass with it. I tested it today using the pla and it works, almost too well.

I finally got a reasonable result casting 3d printed parts.Here I cast the face shield of a greco style helmet. It came out good enough to use as a night stand accessory.R&D is done and we're on to prototyping.Lessons learned so far.PLA is too ashy for my purposes, I'll be switching filament to a wax based product that leaves less residue.Plaster or any gypsum product is not suitable as an investment. Ceramic shell casting is the way to go. I made a slip using taxidermy clay (don't) and it worked ok. There is cotton fiber in that kind of clay but it was 5 bucks for 10 lbs.Zinc is more forgiving than aluminum. The last cast actually included a Lorcin 380.

OK, for those few playing the home game.I ran out of propane trying to melt brass. I came up with a simple yet complex solution. A natural gas blast furnace.Fuel: MethaneO2: Low pressure high volume air.While the device is similar to a blast furnace in that air is introduced at above 1 atm, the velocity reduces the pressure allowing the methane (at .25 psi) to be injected. The device is also similar to an afterburner, so it's technically neither an blast furnace or afterburner, it just is.Burning it is an art, warm to furnace to about 1200', after that the methane will self ignite and you can pour all the fuel you want into the furnace. Ho Lee Schiff!
