Men assume that men invented everything. They are not only wrong, but also stupid. The first person to program a computer was a woman, a woman invented the dishwasher (probably because she was so sick of hearing men say they are physically incapable of washing a dish). A woman played a large part in the discovery of DNA (a large enough role that is she was a man, we would know her name instead of Watson and Crick. Instead the men exclude her as the discoverer of the structure of DNA by what is essentially a technicality). I'm realizing having the email signature of simply my first name (no title, land acknowledgement, or pronouns) is really unique among my colleagues and it reminds me of the night all my current friends went out and got tattoos w/o me and I was kinda sad I didn't get invited, especially because I had been wanting a tattoo. And then I realized not having tattoos was much more unique than having tattoos for people my age.

I just realized while typing this that this is obvs an American/Canadian thing! Probably doesn't make sense if you are not from a place that does it. I found this article really helpful. I KNOW sex work is violence and not work, but I never could give a very good argument why. I think to women it's just obvious.
