#MastoAdmin #MastodonTesting AWS Services (ECS,EC2, S3,CloudFront,SES,RDS) to Scale Mastodon went well.It is definitely is doable, but not cost effective for small to medium instances honestly.AWS NAT Gateways are really expensive, and cause things to skew quickly. Large instances, it does add the ability to scale fairly easily, and relieve the need to do big migrations. It also makes it easier to scale horizontally. I will put together a full write up later this weekend.

I've noticed a few servers that we are federated with that are failing in the queue this morning (via sidekiq). Doing a check on a few of them, some are out right gone (which it happens, but is sad) others are really struggling. Especially the big instances, or popular names.If any #MastoAdmin need assistance, other admins are here, and may be able to help.If you are #NewHere, consider a smaller, lower population instance. We still get the same federated content.

LibreTranslate is running in containers on my Nomad Cluster, and mapped to the local port via the service mesh.The translate request is passed to 1 of 4 translate containers I created.It has sped up the translate process significantly.#MastoAdmin #HashiCorpConsul #HashiCorpNomad

Sciatic nerve pain woke me up at 2:30am today. I did manage to get a couple hours of sleep after I stretched and shifted sleep positions.I still managed to make it to the gym at 5:30am today, and got a light workout in. ~17 minute mile with a slight incline.Hoping for a quiet, productive day.#Today

I realized Link has not had a proper introduction on the Fediverse yet.Link is our 4th German Shepherd Husky Mix, and a very active puppy. He has been growing like a weed and while Artemis was a little hesitant initially, he has been fully integrated into pack at the house.#DogsOfMastodon

@stux many of us in the US feel and fear the same thing.Adding to that sentiment, I feel like the federal government has made it more dangerous just to exist.
