One of the earliest signs you're in a cult or a cult-like social campaign is when you find your side resorting to complete conjecture as "peer-reviewed" in order to prop up that belief system. You see this a lot with UAP/UFO "aliens" types. They'll claim something has been peer reviewed despite there being no experts in the field of physics breaking supernatural crafts.

@CppGuy @tek I had a longterm viral response in 2020 to what was most likely COVID (I got sick so early they didn't even have tests for it yet). I was also exposed to COVID Christmas of last year & ended up with burning mouth syndrome for the next 9 months (only recently started to get better). So, "long COVID" or whatever we should call it, is very real & it's too bad so many people think they shouldn't get vaccinated to prevent it & worse.

I've tested a bunch of social media platforms so you don't have to. Here is my quick summary:1. #Bluesky is okay but quickly turned into a popularity contest.2. #Threads = 0 engagement.3. #Twitter #X sucks more than ever.4. #Tribel is like #Bluesky in that early adopters dominate the entire discourse.5. #Mastodon has the highest engagement, the fewest instances of trolling, and people tend to be nice. Obviously, this is MY experience & doesn't mean it will be YOUR experience.

@tek @CppGuy Both times I was exposed, I didn't get sick. But weeks after everyone else who got sick got over it, that's when I started feeling the "long COVID" effects.
