@HeavenlyPossum The DDR with the Stasi was used as *the* example of a horrific society.A couple of years ago a former Stasi officer said that they could only dream of the infrastructure provided by modern-day surveillance capitalism.Even though it wasn't much of a surprise to me ("'1984' was imo meant as a warning, not as a blueprint ... for dummies"), it was still shocking to hear.I wonder if there were others who thought "holy shit", but I am/was not very hopeful :-/

@polezaivsani Forking a project as big and important as a webbrowser is a HUGE undertaking. You'll likely need a large number of skilled developers to join you.Maybe it's too bold to ask the EU to fund it and therefor no one tried? But there's a high probability that this would be seen as anti-competitive and therefor possibly illegal?I realize there is no actual competition in the browser 'market', but the EU may still see it as such and it could also invoke fears of setting precedents.

I run uMatrix in Firefox and as opposed to the majority of internet sites, on Mastodon it's (almost?) always completely green ๐ Upon opening mozilla.social and I see it's not all green but 19 items where blocked. Including requests to googletagmanager and [incoming.]telemetry.mozilla.social.You see those dark-red bars? That means it's so bad that uMatrix blocks them by default (IOW: I didn't have to do that myself).You want feedback @mozilla?Fix your shit!
