@Nonilex to be fair the association is fucked up & ableist (citation: lawyer I know had to certify that they would be stable & competent off their meds -- they would not but the doctor agreed it was BS and fudged it a little, also a required video about accessibility--accessibility, of all things--had no captions, and...) but something tells me that ain't the reason they're doing this.

@stux See that sounds nice but world government/anarchy (as you get without countries) would be bad for minorities. In the case of a world government, there'd be *nowhere to go*. Right now it's theoretically possible for Tibetans or Uyghurs to leave China -- if the world government, which after all is going to be ~17% Chinese, goes after them, they're screwed.If it's anarchy, well, say you're a queer person in a small, VERY red town in a blue state. Anarchy means no punishment for them.

@aral A country that needs to start a war--both to distract people from the actions of the White House that are now impacting people's bank accounts and not just their human rights, and to create a hyper-"patriotic" (read: nationalistic/xenophobic) environment to make criticizing the regime look bad.Or orcs.
