I feel like the most important aspect about Qanon is less the "rebellion" and more the realization that the average American now fully believes that every politician has the moral compass of an industrial strength child molester. Like it's not even hard to believe to them, you might as well be saying pain hurts.And like to any good samaritan still in that system like, godspeed, because a government without the faith of the people is no government, it's a corpse.

@AlbionLK where were they in the 19th century? Sources I've found mark their creation in the 1930s, which is squarely in the 20th century, and as a pretty explicit reaction to the rise in violent fascism (namely the black and brown shirts) where their creation could be seen as fighting fire with fire. Admittedly though, on closer inspection the Red Guard bit seems to be reversed, with them taking after Antifa and not the other way around.
