People are arguing over this post on fb again lol. A good a time as any to highlight a couple of things. The day after this press conference I received data from the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) that showed that almost ALL (7/8) of the male offenders transferring into women’s federal prisons were violent offenders. Importantly it took an appeal and 8 months to obtain this information as they had initially told me the information didn’t exist. When I initially received that denial I contacted CSC to see if there was a problem in how I worded my question and I was told, by an indoctrinated fool, that it was impossible to track gender because of its fluidity.That is something that I repeatedly highlight because it is part of a disturbing pattern of misinformation that is a hallmark of this issue. And it is going entirely unchallenged by our sleepwalking media. Also on that same day I received a copy of a grievance against CSC that had been filed by an Indigenous woman who had been harassed by Matthew Harks while incarcerated at the Grand Valley prison in Ontario. Harks is a serial predator and this woman has a history of trauma from male abuse. It is cruel and unusual punishment to place traumatized women, or any woman, into an inescapable place with predatory men. And anyone who fails to comprehend that can go to Hell.

@LostInCalifornia yes but there are ridiculous people in Canada who fail to make the distinction between the American right wing and our own, far more moderate, conservatives.It makes me nuts. People can’t read and that is a big part of it. The info I wrote about came from a damn info request. yes we should def challenge some of the unsupportable accusations that have been thrown at some hard working women.

@mittimithai Thanks for taking the time to read it! Yes, this is being treated as a medical issue when really it is rooted in bogus psych theory. As tin foil hat as it may sound, I think that this has been promoted by a lobby group with vested interests. They have bought their way into reputable orgs and are taking advantage of the faith we have in those orgs. The academic work is appalling. I saw a study that labeled children ages 3-5 as transgender because of clothing and toy preference. The co-author of this study (Karen Olsen) was given a MacArthur Prize for her work. That is a prestigious award (nicknamed “the genius grant”). Something definitely stinks.

I updated my post on the way Canadian federal corrections changed its policy to cater to gender identity. I tried to be more clear about the fact that the way this was done was propagandistic and I added a note at the bottom pertaining to the definition of hatred in the Criminal Code. Canadians cannot be convicted of inciting hatred when the statements they are making are true. I closed most of my social media accounts (keeping this one tho <3). New York already has self ID for prisons but they have a bill before the Senate that would make it even worse. I contacted the office of the Senator who sponsored the bill and was told that it was only about offenders who had a formal diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria. Now, I know we all know what a crock of shit that label is but even worse than that the rep was wrong!The proposed bill would allow offenders who have a diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria OR self identify as transgender OR are gender nonconforming OR have a gender identity that doesn’t align with their sex to choose what prison they will go to. They are also free to go back and forth. The point of this rant is you cannot trust the info these reps tell you. I don’t think she was lying to me knowingly, I think she simply didn’t bother to take 5 or 10 minutes and read the fucking bill before she responded to me. This has happened to me when contacting Canadian reps as well. It is deeply concerning because even in the rare instance where women do contact their reps they may be given incorrect info and walk away with a false sense of security. Gender Dysphoria sounds like a medical label and people’s faith in heath care professionals is absolute. What this actually is is an erosion of sex segregation in prisons and it is complete fucking madness.

@macha I am not sure what the drama is and I like that they did the billboard in BC but I don’t get why he is wasting all this money on billboards in the US. Most people who see it won’t get what it is about and also there is so much going on down there atm it will get lost in the noise. Beyond that it shows a real disconnect from the reality of this mess. We have so much work to do in Canada and it would make more sense to use resources on legal fees, admin, and research. That is my rant lol

The true trans narrative makes me nuts. I am shocked at how many women fall for it. We need to hold a hard line when it comes to single sex services and single sex spaces. Traumatized women will be so horribly impacted if we don’t. It makes me sick that we need to convince so many women of this.

@Wildebeest They have not been using single sex services where I live so it is shocking. There are some men who are not a threat to women. These men are no different than other men. People who believe in transsexuals need to take a closer look at the history of the concept.

@Kay @Wildebeest yeah I have accidentally gone into the men’s lol. I can be a bit dense lol. More than once I have gone “that is a funny looking sink, …..oh shit”. Yeah most of these men can be clocked right away. I did see one use the bathroom at my university. He isn’t allowed. They have so called gender neutral bathrooms in a specific area and this was not it. I didn’t say anything. I would now. Esp as he was a middle aged man and this was at a uni. But I had been having meetings with the uni staff trying to wake them up to the problems with this crap and I wanted to play my cards right and didn’t think making a scene would help. I think that shows how much we are brainwashed. Because I am a loudmouth and I still bit my tongue. It was a mistake.

Statistics Canada have instructed police depts across #Canada to record self declared gender and not sex. Some argue that this will not have a significant impact on data but I do not agree.There is no way to know how many offenders will claim to be the opposite sex. Stats Can maintains that this will not harm data but they refuse to elaborate on how they have drawn such an unsupportable conclusion.Many journalists in Canada are aware that this incoherent change has been implemented but none of them have reported on it.
