@thelinuxEXP I thought about giving your video some hate just because of you anticipating you might get some... 🤣Seriously, though, iPhones are made, rather infamously, in China. So actually that doesn't track with your not wanting China-sourced hardware.I would love to go with open hardware running a mature Linux-for-Mobile distro, but as you've already pointed out (and the rest of us have known right along) there's really no hardware worth owning, nor is there a mature OS platform.

@thelinuxEXP The thing is, as you've also pointed out, even if there existed the most awesome and fantastic such option, if mission-critical apps don't exist for it, what's the point?Frankly, I don't want Android apps on that device. I want native apps.

@thelinuxEXP BTW, I'm not a fan of curved edges. They suck when you're trying to put on a screen protector. I really prefer a nice, flat display on a device with square sides.I keep my phone in my pocket when I go out (holsters don't work for me at all) and as a consequence, I've never had a scratched or broken screen.

Put in the year of my birth, 1972, as the start year, and then 2023 as the current year. Then put in $15 (how much my present job pays me) in the field. @lowqualityfacts On a quasi-related note, I try to avoid running proprietary software. Not saying I'm anywhere close to Richard Stallman level, but I try and keep it limited to just codecs and such.
