@fitheach The white dog / contrast reminded me of ‘zone placement’ that was - still is - used in film photography, which I used to a lot of. Do you use that when evaluating exposure in more difficult conditions? I’m no professional photographer, by the way, just interested.

@fitheach haha - I still have my Pentax digital spotmeter, a few books by Ansel Adams and Fred Picker’s book ‘Zone VI Workshop’. And memories of hours in the darkroom, like a cave-dweller 😀

@anniemo71 i love bookshops, especially secondhand bookshops. There’s a brilliant one in Llangollen, above a bistro, on the first floor. Go up the stairs, and it opens out into a huge space. But if I see a bookshop, I almost always go in. Also like libraries (one is 5 minutes walk from where I live). Don’t buy books from Amazon, but bought many from Apple books (including audiobooks). Sometimes go to a Welsh bookshop not far from me too.

@huge @VeryBadLlama I’m lucky enough to have some garden forks in the shed, including a couple of really old ones where the tines have worn down to sharp(ish) points. No torches, though - I suppose I could make my own… Maybe we could crowdfund…?
