       This story found on Hacker News is about one example of the kernel's sneaky tendency to give too much work to the first CPU core.  Latency is one problem.  My problem is when trying to cool fireball CPUs I find the first core habitually running close to 10 °C hotter than the last.        Maybe it's a mistake to give medical credentials to people who don't believe in medicine.  Maybe it's a mistake to give authority over elections to people who don't believe in free and fair elections.  Maybe it's a mistake to give law enforcement authority to people who don't believe in rule of law.  And so on.
