       @BlackAzizAnansi Imo it's a combination of a huge misinformation campaign telling none-white folks that we aren't welcome here, a general unwillingness to compromise or curate own experience or engage with anything that isn't just a copy of twitter, and seriously misunderstanding of the difference between censorship and being asked to tag/cw toots because this isn't twitter and we work on the basis of consent and not clout here.

       @BlackAzizAnansi just to clarify; asking us that if we come here that we follow the established rules of conduct, is what you call a demand for assimilation? Or have I missed anything other than being held to the same standard as everyone else with regards to what's expected to have a CW?(This reads snarky, it's not, I'm genuinely asking)

       @BlackAzizAnansi @LowlyAdjunct I just don't see how asking people to tag is discriminatory. Tag it, people who want to engage will, and those who don't won't. That's not censorship that's giving people the option to consent to engaging in potentially triggering situations and as someone who Bites™️ when I'm triggered, trust me it's as much for everyone else's safety as it is mine. There is no downside to tagging unless your goal is to trigger others, which begs the question; why?

       @BlackAzizAnansi @LowlyAdjunct ottomh; it affects, nay harms, other people in your community who are raw from living it & logged on for relief. It harms people outside your community who will be triggered & spiral as helplessness sets in. It harms those of us whose nervous systems don't differentiate between direct immediate threat and unexpectedly being exposed to something that trips those same trauma responses. The only people it doesn't harm are the ones who don't care anyway

       @BlackAzizAnansi @LowlyAdjunct no one is saying you can't discuss racism or bigotry. I certainly haven't. Asking you to tag isn't silencing you. It's asking you to consider that not everyone is ready, able or safe to engage with what you're talking about and give them the option instead of throwing it in their faces without warning.

       @BlackAzizAnansi @LowlyAdjunct so when you CW your commentary, discussion, venting etc you're protecting your own community, your own people, people beyond you and your community, and people who haven't had much by way of protection ever in their lives but care enough to be affected by what you're saying while not actually losing the engagement of the pricks who would roll their eyes and scroll on anyway because you never had it to begin with.
