The problem with the death penalty isn't that the state might kill the wrong people, or that it has no deterrent effect, it's that it's ethically wrong to the point of being purely evil for the state to kill its own citizens. We're not subjects, existing at the whim of divinely appointed rulers, we're citizens who elect people to govern us so that everyone's lives are better. That's entirely inconsistent with state murder.

Foster ridgeback Henna in the blue collar playing with her best buddy Millie who is staying with us while her owners are on holiday. When they return Henna will be going to them as her forever home. It's been lovely to see how well they've bonded in the last week.#dogsofmastodon #RescueDogs
