Okay, our CoC/Terms are a pointer to Mastodon.Art's until I figure out what text goes in which box to make it appear where, but apart from that I've opened registrations.I'm going to cap the instance size at ~2000 active users, or whatever keeps us at or under $100/month in hosting costs. Currently we're at $25/month, so we should have plenty of room for incoming folks for awhile.I'll set up a Patreon et al. for support after all the other setup is done here, but for now I'll cover it.

The intention of Artisan.Chat is to take some of the traffic off Mastodon.Art, and give those of us who mostly create in 3d our own space.Painting, drawing, and other 2D arts are still welcome, especially if you feel intimidated by the idea of "but am I making β¨ARTβ¨?"

@Darkayne @ubergeek @realcaseyrollins That post seems really weird to me: that's an admin that is just constantly out there interacting with folks from the worst-of-the-worst edgelord sites and then is surprised to find out that other sites want to hold their site at arm's length?I suspended awoo all on my own well before that list published, because of that. I know that sounds like the dreaded "blocked because of who they federate with" thing but that is more than just federating.

Moderators know which ones they are.(teci's actually on the list as well, for exactly the same reason. * Do it anyway. This seems snarky, but hear me out: don't just knee-jerk reject it because it's new. Give it a try. We really did hash all this out over time, and it's been mostly working. You may find it does for you too. You'll quickly find that you're automatically opening every "food" entry without thinking about it, and pausing to prepare yourself for "food [gross]" before clicking. And you can always set it to pre-open all CW's, but I encourage you to wait and get a feel for them first.

@realcaseyrollins Not just federated: interacts with on a regular basis. Federation, eh, that's at least got deniability. I don't see everything that comes in on *my* fedline either.But you can't regularly engage in conversations with people from those instances and say you don't know what they're about. And if you know what they're about and still think they're just fine, you're not fit to moderate people that my people have to interact with.
