@kev If you're looking for something new I highly recommend the Wayfarer series by Becky Chambers, or any of their books.

@mike What are you saying Mike? That polls should be exhaustive?

@mike that age only lasts a few years, then you'll need glasses for stuff up close too. Probably.

@mike I've been looking at Mycroft. I don't use any of the commercial assistants. But can I call it whatever I want, as in "Hey Shithead, turn off the lights..."

Even though I haven't used them in quite a while I keep these marked chopsticks taped to my monitor in order to correctly size the images that I capture with my film camera on slide film so that I can painstakingly glue stereo pairs into homemade viewmaster reels.#stereoscopic #ViewMaster

@joel I hope you are patient. I plan to make one or two viewmaster reels as an additional gift for a family wedding this summer. I'll see what enthusiasm I can muster to video document the process.

@joel Are you curious about ViewMaster or stereo photography? Perhaps 3D imagery and VR? Viewmaster is low-tech but great way to share stereoscopic images, and to collect historical stereo photography and popart.

I've been trying to convince myself that using my bicycle to carry home 35 lbs of charcoal to burn in the BBQ is irony instead of a textbook example of cognitive dissonance.

@kop316 Making dinner for two families.I use a triple walled grill, so I only need to fill the firebox once, even for 8-10 hrs, low & slow. The 35 lbs will last 8-10 months.I've also rationalised that planting these pine and spruce seedlings I'm hardening up in our garden will compensate for the trees I burn to cook dinner.Still it's more wasteful than a microwave or induction cooker.

@yogthos Interesting they needed to say "He was a normal well-balanced man..." Sounds exactly how a partisan hack might regarding the previous US president.

@mike Many things that bring me joy sometimes require this ability. When you're on day 7 of a canoe trip and hauling your gear past the 20th beaver dam of the day and it's pissing rain and you packed your tent wet in the morning. Being wet and cold on a small sailboat at night, with building waves and 12 more hours to go till landfall. This ability to slog through can be beneficial for work sometimes too but can't imagine it as my default every morning.Good life skill vs terrible life style.

@waeiski does it sometimes seem to you that the calendar says spring but when you leave the house it feels like the beginning of winter...?

@sarahdalgulls In case you weren't aware, you can just type "bored" in the coordinates panel of QGIS and get a tile puzzle of whatever you have on your map canvas.
