I've noticed it's popular in Film Fancypants circles to shit on drone shots in movies. Especially low budget movies, where there is a sneer to it, like "hah you couldn't afford a helicopter, you don't fool me."But me? I am glad they're around.I'm watching a low budget horror movie with some beautiful locations at the moment, and they use drone shots to take advantage of the locations in a lovely way.

Teach me something useful about a subject you know very well.Doesn't have to be a detailed lesson, in fact ideally just a few words or a single post.Boosts appreciated, 2023 is coming and I'd like to get smarter. @Penelope there are a lot of paths! I did a podcast for a few years that got me comfortable with a mic, then I got sick and couldn't do my old job, so I studied voiceover in a course in London, took singing lessons, got a professional reel made with a pro engineer...After that it was (is) a lot of grind. It's a relatively easy way to make extra cash, but a difficult way to make a living.

@mekkaokereke thank you for these threads.I'm just a clueless Irish guy who spent the first 20 years of his life on an island that was approximately 100% white.But I've learned a little about the shameful history of racism of my country folk over the years, and I've grown out of believing I get a pass when people talk about racist white behaviour just because I'm Irish.But it's not just books and movies, it's threads like this that I'm learning from, all the time.

This is a bit difficult to say, and I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings:I might not follow you back if your posts are almost exclusively US Politics. I am an Irish person living in another European country, and I *do* actually have a sustained interest in US politics, because it’s hard to look away from and it tends to affect the entire world.But on Twitter over time, that became all I saw every day, and I don’t want to return to that.
