@BrodieOnLinux @fedora Yeah, not having the ability to handle security contexts would be a big blocker for really considering it.

@ariadne It'd be great if you could give a talk at #FlockToFedora or #DevConf_CZ or #DevConf_US at some point as @fedora and @centos were one of the first distributions to adopt it. πŸ˜ƒ

@ebassi @carl Fedora Infrastructure has been regularly down for weeks because AI scrapers. I'm so frustrated. 😦

@jwildeboer Even more important:NO, nobody can tell you whether you are doing enough or not. Only YOU decide that.(Yes, this happened to me a few times... 😦)

@frumble @BrodieOnLinux Most mailing list systems do this, just Linux's never did. And the lore archiver doesn't either. Fedora's mailing lists flat out don't show email addresses anymore for this reason.

@frumble @BrodieOnLinux Offhand? HyperKitty and Apache Pony Mail do, as did the older Pipermail. Various archivers for Majordomo and mlmmj either did or didn't depending on whether the admin bothered. Sympa does not, though it tries to use interactive clickthroughs to stymie scrapers.

@BrodieOnLinux @frumble Fedora created HyperKitty precisely to make mailing lists easier. It was @mairin's brainchild. I'm happy to see more communities adopt it for their mailing lists in recent years.

I wish OpenID Connect (#OIDC) didn't have the OpenID name in it. It doesn't function like #OpenID at all. 😦

🌢️ take: the phrase "cloud native" needs to just die in a fire. It's so meaningless and it's used as a gatekeeping device these days.I work on tools that make things that people consider "cloud native" or "container native" but apparently that's not enough to be considered either. πŸ’’And because of that, things are more difficult than they need to be.

@purpleidea Hilariously, pretty much none of the real cloud providers use the phrase at all. Because it's stupid.

@BrodieOnLinux @cassidy @mattdm I think there's a difference between Fedora's stale bug closure and what people do on GitHub. We auto-close bugs in RHBZ that target Fedora releases that are EOL. We automatically comment on those bugs informing them of why and tell them how to reopen it.That's a lot kinder than the GitHub stale bots which aggressively close them in 60/90 days and tell you nothing.

@richardfontana @benny It's incredibly annoying. When I observe it, I have to bite my tongue really hard. It's amazing (in a bad way) how much that's said.It really sucks because it also makes the "value of subscription" conversation so awkward and difficult.A few years ago, I put a comment on Reddit where I described the value proposition of RHEL. I think it still mostly holds true today: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/s8cyfi/rhel_workstation_best_option_for_me/htwmb79/

@BrodieOnLinux When you were reading Phoronix comments, did you mean to not have the comments up on the video? Because it was weird for you to read while being a talking head...

@10leej @fedora No. PipeWire deprecated its own session manager in favor of WirePlumber, which uses Lua for configuration.

The worst part about people basically driving @kev and @mike to consider shutting down fosstodon is that since Mastodon's account migration facilities are garbage, I will actually *lose* my historical presence on the fediverse if they shut down. The fediverse seems to be a meaner place than what it replaced. And that's a shame.
