@mikeythenurse I honestly don't get that thought process either. I already know of someone who's had it twice this year and been much more unwell the second time. There is so much coming out about the long term impacts of viruses and the connection to /development of, other illness later in life - I just don't understand why you would risk that for yourself/family. Seems so short sighted.

Went for another walk out near #Piha today. This time we went up to the lookout then followed the track around past some smaller bays and back up to the road. We couldn't believe the number of people out surfing this morning (surely it's too cold still?!). Saw some interesting looking trees that have obviously copped a lot of wind and grown into strange shapes.#Waitakere #NZ

Yesterday's adventure was a trip to #GibbsFarm sculpture park, near #Kaipara harbour. The farm only opens for prebooked groups (e.g. educational, charity). We bought tickets via a breast cancer charity fundraiser (Sweet Louise). What really struck me was the size of these. I've been to sculpture parks before, but nothing with works on this scale. The build and installation must have been such massive jobs.#NZ #Sculpture

#NZTwits Can you take Epipens in check in luggage or do they have to be carry on?As far as I can understand from Air NZ website, they are ok to go in check in?

@T @EssjaxThank you both. We carry them for orchard work, just in case someone in the team has a severe reaction to a bee/wasp sting. Normally we drive to our work sites so I haven't had to consider this about the Epipens before. I think based on your advice that it's best to go with carry on - I'd hate to get to the orchard and find we need one but it's been compromised. Thank you!

@irix Absolutely. Maybe we'll see a resurgence of at home reference material like the good old encyclopaedia Britannica sets. 🤔

TIL: Did you know that compasses in the northern and southern hemisphere are different? The needles are counterweighted differently due to the downwards pull of the closer pole. If you're from the northern hemisphere and came to visit me in New Zealand, the magnet on the South end of your compass will be pulled down and will drag on the bottom of the compass. Our compasses would be the opposite in the northern hemisphere, dragging on the north end (as that's counterweighted for us).

It's #WeevilWednesday ! Here's the four-spined weevil (Scolopterus tetracanthus) hanging out on a carrot weed flower. What a cutie! #NZ #weevil
