The process of creating the standards is a highly political one where politicians tap their favorite buddies from around the state and pull them together to make them feel anointed and empowered. Thatās where the shady shit happensā¦backroom deals with textbook makersā¦educational agendas being set behind the curtain. NOT in teaching current events.

I'm a 3rd generation...it's my family business...I despise what the Commies have done to our spiritual and intellectual core as a nation. My life has been devoted to understanding why that happened and serving as a bulwark against that encroach. That's why I became a public school administrator for 15 years. I took duty with the Night's Watch. Answer the call in the AM.

When I explained the "insurrection" (was a current event) last year I had a parent come after me. I was teaching International Baccalaureate (IB) Psychology and framing the "insurrection" as a form of "deindividuation". Was called in to admin as an apologist...if you don't kowtow activist parent head-hunt. Social media doxxing of teachers is real.

When don't you use your cell phone?I teach them how to use them for productive purposes.Tell me when cell phones won't be integral to your life...how about them? The worst technology they will ever remember in their lives will be the cell phones they all have.To be relevant today you have to learn across generations and meet them where they are.

@Debradelai @DLMarch54 @darulharb Just to finish...clarifyI believe in presenting both sides of an issue to gain perspective on the 360 view. I don't tell kids what to believe...I challenge them to make claims and support with evidence based on defining narratives. Current events help frame the human condition. We cam compare and contrast past with present.The whole goal is not to indoctrinate...It's to teach kids wired in regurgitation to learn systems of thinking.
