@Br3nda And end up with the same result? There is such a thing as a Grand Coalition.

My youngest sister on the Sunshine Coast who has to take meds which suppress her immune system caught her first dose of COVID. She said she thought she would die. My sister and people like her rely on others to keep them safe. She has to work and can’t avoid coming into contact with others.

Two people at daughters work have COVID. I hope she doesn’t catch it. My daughter is on a weekly low dose of chemo to control her autoimmune disease so she’s vulnerable.

@ptoothfish I think the Santa Parades might be a source of spread also. All those people tightly packed together.

One of the Labour MPs has COVID ( for the second time) I have never seen them mask even in indoor crowded situations. They and their colleagues should be leading by example in this recent surge.

COVID horror story. One of my daughter’s work colleagues has Covid for the 6th time. Readers they never mask. My daughter masks in areas where she is in close contact with others. They have very good ventilation at work. Her colleague has never caught COVID at work. The person concerned is also in one of the vulnerable groups. You’d think they’d make some sort of connection between not masking and infection eh? #covidisnotover2023

@Uair @cy @heartofcoyote @olena @actuallyautistic you’re wrong. My doctor had terrible trouble weaning women hooked on them when they were handed out like sweets to women in the sixties and seventies. My cousin was on huge dosage. I don’t know if she’s ever got off them. She’s like a zombie even now all these years later. Suspect she can’t be weaned off them. Doctors in my Country are very careful how they prescribe.

@strypey I’ve always thought criminals are buying guns “ out the back door” of legit gun shops.

@mu Auckland is shocking. My daughter sees few masking on the bus. Sometimes none. I’m usually the only one masking at the Supermarket. I’ve rarely seen anyone else masking in the waiting room at the doctors surgery. My doctor wears an N95. She lost a close relative to COVID and they weren’t elderly.

@strypey The meds have worked miracles for the members of my family with ADHD. They can concentrate at school. Sleep better at night. Speech is no longer a mile a minute. Meds have been life changing.

So the USA voted with Russia at the UN. I’d say NATO is stuffed now. Europe is battening down the hatches and preparing for a Show Down. We live in uncertain times.

@evacide Reminds me of the time Americans were reporting each other for having suspected Communist sympathies. A lot of people had their livelihoods destroyed. These are dark days and I suspect just the indication of things to come.

@strypey Why should West Auckland have to bear the brunt of intensification. Thousands live on my block now. Four, four storey apartments alone in the next street. Three large town house developments plus another apartment building and a mews development. All this on one block. They all drive home through my little street at night. They use another set of lights in the mornings. Let the leafy suburbs shoulder some of the housing needs. Why should it just be us?
