It's very funny when somebody writes that "Mastodon" is full of a certain kind of content simply because they don't understand how federation works. What happens is that maybe they see some horrible stuff on a far-right Instance believing that this is what the entire Mastodon experience must be.That's worse as surfing on 4chan and declaring that the entire web is a horrible place because in fact all the #fascist and #freespeech servers are de facto banned by the majority of Mastodon Instances.

Anche #Tumblr entra a far parte del #Fediverso con l'adozione di #Activitypub portandovi circa 17 milioni di utenti. Ergo: diventerebbe la più grossa Istanza di tutto il Fediverso.Non saprei dire come sia messo oggi Tumblr a livello di moderazione dato che non lo frequento. @Francesco_lombardo85 È lo strumento software usato da tutte le piattaforme che formano il Fediverso https://mastodon.help/#TheFediverse In pratica, chiunque crea una piattaforma di qualunque tipo (Un social, un aggregatore di notizie, un Tube, un calendario online), se lo fa funzionare con ActivityPub lo rende parte del Fediverso e la sua piattaforma potrà interagire connle altre.È grazie ad ActivityPub che su Mastodon possiamo commentare i post di Friendica e i video di PeerTube.

A proposito di frontend: per chi vuole mollare #Twitter ma ha ancora bisogno di buttarci un'occhio, un'App per smartphone che può tornare utile è #Fritter. Non si tratta di una "banale" App non ufficiale di Twitter ma di qualcosa di molto diverso: è una sorta di feed reader con cui è possibile leggere i tweet degli account preferiti SENZA AVERE UN ACCOUNT. L'App in sostanza sfrutta i feed aperti del bluesite e usa solo quelli. Questo però comporta anche dei limiti: non permette di scrivere nè retwittare nè seguire account lucchettati. Inoltre gli account in questione non sapranno mai che li state seguendo e non apparirete mai nella lista dei followers. Ma se si vuol semplicemente tener traccia di cosa si dice da quelle parti e cosa dicono alcuni account è perfetta. https://fritter.cc (Anche su F-Droid)
