Bug IdentificationThese little buggers look familiar to anyone? I believe they were in a bag of Happy Frog soil mix I bought. Hundreds and hundreds of them in my pots. Not sure what thet are, or if they are a concern for veggie plants. https://www.minds.com/newsfeed/1587458615281717262

@kestrel_black These little guys like to bunch together, so this morning I went to check some of my k-cup pods I am testing growing in, and there had to be 50 of them on the top of one cup!

ExpectationsIn the summer, we were so proud when every veggie on the plate was from our garden. Here in January, we are just glad we can still add a few homegrown ingredients!

Yes. They are quite tasty. Very fresh snap to them. Quite like asparagus. I learned that when we moved to our current home. Apparently, the previous owner was either a hosta vendor or just REALLY liked hostas. There are litterally hundreds on our property. She even had a fenced-in hosta nursery. Now they look good until the deere find them...

Sprouting LentilsTrying my hand at sprouting some lentils my father gave me. I think he meant to buy sprouting lentils but bought eating lentils by accident. I decided to try sprouting them anyway.

I guess I've always assumed that 'sprouting' ones are a bit fresher... I have been wondering what the difference between seeds and 'Microgreen' seeds is. Besides being over 4X the price. Here's regular versus 'microgreen' seed prices on High Mowing Seeds site.

I SWORE to myself I was not going to ignore plant spacing this year... sigh. I want potatoes and sweet potatoes still as well. I have turmeric tubers in my humidifier but they won't sprout. What do you do with hops besides beer? We have some that was here when we moved in. I never looked into uses. Never heard of oca or chinese artichokes. Gonna look those up right now!
