@Jyoti I truly despise the gatekeeping that comes along with a lot of these groups. I have tried to join multiple local and online groups that I thought would be welcoming, but it ended up being 90% ‘there is only one right way to do this using this one specific piece of gear’. I agree that it really sucks the joy out of creating. I got to point that if people were spouting off ‘only one right way’ I’d try the opposite to see what happens.

@Jyoti Yes! The collectors and GAS enthusiasts take over. Limiting how others create is just so asinine. Even in the techno community/scene the amount of people trying to pigeonhole what ‘actual techno’ is makes my head hurt. All they have to do is look at the progression of techno over the past 20 years and it is sooo varied, yet we have people saying it is only one type of sound. Ridiculous!I could rant on, but overall I feel your pain.

@killyourfm spam is an odd thing. At my work I would get about 1/5 messages being spam. Then they changed the filter and started getting legit emails and spam getting caught up in the filter. Even emails from colleagues at one point.

@killyourfm very true. At the same time proper filters to aid records management processes to identify specific record types have not really advanced either.

I have officially cancelled my #AppleMusic subscription and am planning to shift to exclusively buying all my music. For me, I found having the streaming music at my fingertips made me lazy. Also the curation was really starting to bug me. Much in the same reason for why I shifted to Mastodon, I want to shift how I consume music. Looking forward to engaging more. I have scoured my files and cannot find the original Ableton project files for a track that I published back in 2022 titled "Summit" 😔 I was a little nostalgic about some of the pieces I made back then and wanted to go back and see if I could take a stab at remastering (perhaps mixing them again). Update: I found it! I am shocked, over the moon and feel like I have just found $20 in the back of a couch (well... probably better than that actually)!!! Now, I can do some work on getting this track updated with a new mix and work on the mastering. For all of you who have gone through this - I hope you find your lost creations as well 🙏
