@colinsmatt11 @PublicLewdness The big reason I didn’t go with kbin for my instance is because on their git repository they said that federation was still a WIP, and it’s written in PHP. Lemmy, however, is written in Rust so it’s pretty fast and nimble in comparison to an interpreted language like PHP.

@colinsmatt11 @PublicLewdness Yeah, the lemmy dev has stated that there’s quite a bottleneck with the DB performance. They’ve been focusing on that before the big day comes when API access is cut off. The recent minor version release already included a few performance enhancements to DB queries.I can’t even imagine what’s going through their heads right now. I’d be shitting myself at the influx of interest in my software and being given a month’s time to get my code into decent shape to be able to handle the huge amount of traffic.
