       @animeirl It's like capitalism tried to do that thing where you buy from local artisans to support the community but was too cheap to pay for the work of actual artisans- so human rights violations it is.

       Maybe it's the "entered the online community pre-facebook" thing, but anonymity is a cornerstone of the Internet, if not *the* foundation. It's both a giant blessing and our biggest responsibility.

       Technology as expensive as smartphones should have replaceable batteries and be easily repaired by the people who bought the device. When you also consider the environmental impact of producing a smartphone or other electronic device, it should be made to last. Apple/Silicon Valley turned electronics into disposable fashion products.

       At one point, computers were considered to be appliances, not fashion products. They were tools to get a job done or entertainment devices like a TV.

       @brightneedle Google eliminating results from a search because it arbitrarily decided that those results were "irrelevant". My dudes, I'm looking up Zines from the 1980s-1990s many of which were never digitized. I will take those results and decide for me if they're relevant or not.
