The best email filter I ever added was the one to divert any email whose body contains the word "unsubscribe" into a separate low-priority folder.

It ought to be possible to taste honey and drop a pin on the map at the origin. There used to be a guy in San Francisco who set up beehives (of dubious legality) in little parks or on other people's property, guerilla style, and showed up at our weekly farmer's market offering the resulting honey labeled with the name of the street or park where the hive was hidden. You had to live there to understand the labels. And since we walked by those blocks and new the flowers there, we could totally see how that hive made that flavor. @futurebird @davep

So that means there's an independent endpoint with a copy of all those messages, on a computer that is surely connected to the open internet (required for Signal Desktop to work) and is surely backed up by IT (along with plaintext copies of all the messages).Oh well.https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2025/04/23/hegseth-signal-pentagon-computer/

@stux This was exactly the feeling of the Mongols in the 12th and 13th C, perhaps you can use their resulting approach as a model going forward.
