@foone There is no greater geek joy than putting on safety glasses, leather gloves, and placing a storage device of any type on a concrete block and beating it to foil with a sledgehammer. Gets a good sweat on, and you can call it by name. This drive is “Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer, TFG, Elon Musk, Peter Thiel” and boy, that is solid catharsis. Also, all that’s really left is slightly damaged concrete and teeny tiny little bits of technology the size of pennies.

@stux It must get much worse before it can start to heal. First you apply pressure, now we must debris the wound, and after that, cauterization. The scar will be unsightly, but we will carry on. Everyone who hates us before will continue to hate us. And then once it’s over, come up with new things to hate about us. It’s okay. It’s what we’re here for. Can’t notice the bright light without some inky darkness. We are creatures of contrast after all. So hate away. It’s okay.

@futurebird Being a gay man, these companies that shed their DEI showed their true face. I didn’t like many of these companies to begin with, always felt that “pandering” vibe off them. Inauthentic, especially with the marketing department at Pride for each of them. Now that the truth is out there, skipping them is simple. Calling it a boycott isn’t really accurate. I went from meh to yuck. It’s to say, even if they went back, I would not. They might as well be burned out hulls.
