@comrade_lecter I can't relate to them, but I think a lot of people feel this way just because they find silliness and innocence to be endearing, not necessarily because they want to manipulate them or feel superior to them.

So I could figure this out on my own but I want to ask for a second opinion, what mastodon instance is best for a loli/shota/cub artist to post their art on and gain a following? Where is the largest number of those artists and their followers? Pawoo? Baarag?

I regret looking at the truscum subreddit. There are seriously people saying that if you're "actually a man" then you should like ALL aspects of going on testosterone HRT, and if there's something that bothers you, or if you want to go off of HRT, then you're just a trender. Not even cis men like everything about testosterone. Are you kidding me?Guess what - I'm a trans man and while I love having a deep voice and more muscle mass because of HRT, I absolutely hate having a lot of body hair. There, I said it. Controversial, huh? It shouldn't be. People can have aesthetic preferences for their body and that doesn't tell you anything about their gender or whether they're "really trans" or not.Seriously, some people get plastic surgery over the most minuscule and hardly noticeable things about their face that they don't like, and some people are saying that if you don't like a certain major effect that a hormone has, you're not valid in feeling that way?Aesthetic preferences are a thing and they don't undermine the validity of your gender identity. Truscum are dumb.

Sometimes I wonder if some of the stuff I say here is way too "out there" (Pic related) but then I remember that this is pretty much the last community where I would have to worry about that.

A lot of people don't seem to understand that "I am ok as I am and there's no need to be ashamed of myself" and "I should grow and change and work on my flaws" are not mutually exclusive.A lot of online communities centered around neurodivergency or mental health have fallen into the trap of "If I accept myself as I am, if my condition is valid, that means I don't need to work to change any of my destructive habits and I don't need to break the cycles I am in. My condition renders me helpless so anything I do is excused by my condition." No, you won't see anybody literally say this exact thing, because it sounds more shocking if you put it into words like that. But this is the exact mindset a lot of people take on whether they realize it or not. I notice this most often with teens. You see, working on yourself doesn't mean you need to be ashamed of your condition or think that something is wrong with yourself. You don't even need to have negative emotions or guilt towards something destructive that you do - you just need to acknowledge it should be worked on, and do what you can to rectify it to the best of your ability, if it is something that hurts yourself or others. You can take a very neutral and matter of fact attitude towards it. Such as "Ok, this thing my OCD compels me to do has hurt others, so I should start taking steps to stop that from happening." See? Shame or self hatred is NOT necessary in order to admit you need to change. You aren't brushing your condition under the rug and you aren't downplaying it's severity by admitting that you do have the power to mitigate many of its effects. You DO have control over the vast majority of your behavior, you CAN make drastic changes to how you function and interact with others, you are not helpless no matter how severe your condition is. Will it necessarily be quick or easy? No! It could be a long journey to improve. I get how stubborn some symptoms can be. But never ever fall into the trap of thinking you can't do anything about it, or that changing necessitates shame or lack of self acceptance.

I know that most of my followers are anti-c but I still need to say this for anyone this applies to. There will be some out there who need to hear this.If you are considering looking for CSEM (real child pornography) - please don't. It's not worth it under any circumstances. It doesn't matter if you take every possible safety precaution, it doesn't matter if your trustworthy tech-genius friend offers to send it to you, it doesn't matter if you have a strong burning curiosity, - it's still not worth it.If the issue is curiosity of what it's like, if you are drawn to the taboo nature of it - it's not difficult to visualize what it would look like. You don't need to actually see it, imagination is enough. And of course there is also plenty of legal fictional content out there. If you're not into the cartoony/anime stuff, there are realistic 3D models.Finding CSEM is not as simple or casual as looking up loli art, and it's harder to find for a REASON, that reason being that people routinely land in prison over this.Just because your friends treat it as some kind of normal/casual thing does not mean that it is. You might gain a skewed idea of how serious and dangerous CSEM is if you are talking to people who treat it like taking a walk in the park. If you think CSEM is a small matter, you are living in a fantasy bubble and your friends aren't helping. Now it's possible that you know people who are sort of careless about it, and you take that as some kind of proof that it's fairly safe to send/download it. But that is not proof, because they're simply lucky. Pure chance. That's the only reason they haven't been caught. Even people who go 100% all in with the safety measures to the extent of being paranoid have been caught.Curiosity, the allure of the taboo, sexual satisfaction - those may be strong impulses, but satisfying those things is NOT WORTH the risk of ending up in prison and having much of your future and life opportunities wiped away, all over a few images or videos. The consequences don't even end when you're released from prison, as you may lose almost all of your employment opportunities, housing opportunities, and social connections. Satisfying your curiosity is very momentary and temporary, but the ramifications last practically forever.

Avoiding CSEM is important for not only your own safety, but also of course for the sake of the children in the images/videos. Some might say "Well I'm just looking at a recording, I'm not doing anything to them, so I'm not actually hurting anyone!" But you have to understand that indirect harm exists. Here it exists in the form of supply and demand, and in the form of viewing/spreading something that the children in question would not want to be seen by others, let alone thousands of strangers.Pro c's will disagree with me, but CSEM involves a lack of informed consent for the children involved. Either they were recorded without their knowledge or consent, they were forced or manipulated into what they are doing, or they participated *seemingly* willingly but without the level of foresight and maturity needed to know the full extent of what it means to participate in those things and have material of themselves be released online. Once it's out there, it's practically impossible to get rid of, and a child is unlikely to fully grasp this fact because they are living and thinking in the moment more than adults are. The decision to put such intimate things online should be made from an adult mindset. Years later children/teens are likely to be extremely anxious about the fact that these videos/photos are still being circulated among countless people with no way to stop it. Some have described it as feeling like it is constantly looming around the corner. Some have been stalked/messaged by people who have seen the CSEM of them. Is it worth it to contribute to that just for sexual satisfaction or curiosity? Hell no.Another thing I've noticed about pro contact "fantasy bubbles" is that they tend to overestimate children's ability to make informed decisions, especially those that may effect their future. Children are smart but they don't think exactly as adults do. It's a very different brand of intelligence. They think more in the short-term. Their intelligence is more geared towards creativity and spontaneity (and are often much better than adults in that area!) rather than planning and practical down to earth aspects of life. They are more prone to making decisions or agreeing to things that they may come to regret. Again I don't think children are stupid (this is a frequent accusation that pro c's have against anti c's), it's just that their brand of intelligence is different. Not worse, just different.CSEM and porn of adults are worlds apart from one another. Please don't treat them the same or believe that the potential effects/risks are exactly the same.

90% of NSFW furry artists: What? Some of my followers are ZOOPHILES? You're telling me that ACTUAL ZOOPHILES are enjoying my art of realistic and anatomically accurate canine and equine genitals? How DARE they assume this artwork is meant for them!?90% of NSFW loli/shota artists: What? Some of my followers are PEDOPHILES? You're telling me that ACTUAL PEDOPHILES are enjoying my art of characters wearing backpacks and school uniforms who clearly look around 8 years old? Every time someone says "Minors can't be MAPs, because minors being attracted to other minors is normal" respond to them with something along the lines of "Do you think a 15 year old being attracted to a 5 year old is normal? Because that's what we're talking about here. Not 15 year olds being attracted to other 15 year olds."

@comrade_lecter I think minor attraction could have an evolutionary reason for existing, even if it isn't one that directly assists in reproduction. A percentage of a population having extra focus/care towards children (because of the attraction that goes beyond just platonic) could be beneficial for a community. Especially one where children are collaboratively raised by several adults in the community instead of just their parents. Which I think is a lot more natural than the nuclear family structure.

@monkey I know someone whose pupils are permanently enlarged from taking adderall throughout his childhood. They don't shrink down to the minimum size anymore and he's sensitive to bright light because of it. Adderall is no joke. I used to take adderall recreationally on occasion but I stopped because it's just a weird artificial euphoria that it gives you, and can make you act like a bit of an impulsive ass. I am never touching adderall again - and this is coming from someone who enthusiastically does psychedelics.

If you are a loli/shota artist, at some point you will just have to accept that fact that your artwork will inevitably attract a boatload of MAPs. They will always make up a huge chunk of your followers, no matter how hard you scream "MAPs DNI!!"

@thekindsadist Don't get me started on the otherkin and therian community trying to completely separate zoophilia from otherkinity/therianopathy - trying to pretend that they are completely different things makes absolutely no sense. If you feel a strong identification with lions for example, if you wish you were physically a lion, etc. doesn't that naturally imply that you will probably find lions sexually/romantically attractive to some extent? And this zoophilia exclusion becomes even more ridiculous when it comes to attraction towards fictional species, and species which do not exist on earth. Such as dragons and gryphons. These are often depicted as having human-level intelligence, and if they lived alongside humans they would have the upper-hand when it comes to power in a relationship, so any issues of consent/power imbalance that applies to earth animals do not apply to them. Yet they still treat attraction towards dragons/gryphons as some unusual and horrible thing? How??There was actually an online otherkin convention which stated in its rules that zoophiles were not welcome to attend the event. How... how can they be serious? Do they not realize how much of their attendees they are talking about? As someone with a strong identification with dragons and large lizards, I sure as hell find them attractive and that should almost go without saying. Others like me should stop playing into the zoophilia outrage and actually be honest about who they are.
