@relentless_eduardo Good point. Yet this question remains: when cartels reach a certain size, and have ties with foreign countries, the lines blurs. Look at the engagement of the mafia when the Allied were planning and then executing their invasion of Italy, starting in Sicily: crime syndicate, or something more?When cartels start bribing officials and influence policy, did they not cross into the political realm with that?I agree it is a very grey zone, and your caution is well placed.

@Java I wouldn't say that his boasting backfired. As pointed out in the article, a proposal was put forth with enough pressure on both sides to have good hopes for an agreement. Russia has made concessions, important ones, it seems. NATO made a huge concession as well, the importance of which cannot be overstated.Zelensky himself seems more demure and open, his choice of words is rather interesting.Where do all those changes of heart come from?
