The nyu #mychart #biometrics #amazon thing is so scummy. You show up for a doctor appt, you try to check in at a kiosk.. You go through a few screens, then it asks you to sign up with no other options other than an X at the top of the screen. Clicking the X logs you out, so you're not checked in.Apparently you need to first click the signup button, *then* you can refuse without canceling check in. A hostile UI intended to give amazon everyone's biometrics.

@mjg59 I never saw anything published about it - it was just prototyped, people tried it out and were like, "wow this SUCKS", and then we just used solar panels.

@futurebird Something I've always enjoyed about RATM is that I'll be reading some random thing about something, and it will describe something referenced in a rage song, and suddenly I'll appreciate the song just a little bit more. Many times throughout my life, like, "Ohhh, so that's what [line from song] means. Holy shit, I can't believe this is a thing that really happened!"
