@karolherbst I can see how the argument could be made that FOSS is democratic, in the sense that it puts some degree of power over it and its outcomes in the hands of people. But without knowing under what conception of "democracy" or "democratic" are you finding that absurd, it's also impossible to understand why you find such an argument absurd.

@Baa TBH I kinda prefer this to having to remember the order of target and published in the rare occasion I get to modify or write a docker compose file.

Man, any system that slowly hides posts because they get down-voted is a cancerous anti-discussion echo chamber generator. Some of the most informative messages or best arguments I've seen get buried because they were replying to someone who got down-voted into oblivion.

@fale My fairly recent experience with remote desktop tools is that they all are utterly broken and unusable under KDE's XWayland. I don't think GNOME fares any better. Also IIRC the Wayland experience for drawing tablets is still unusable.

Now I understand why piracy hasn't been stopped: I got assigned to work on an anti-piracy tool, and the team lead seems to not understand how the internet, IPs, domains, browsers, servers, or anything works.

@deprecated_ii My team has this sort of Tech Lead directing the team that loves to use AI to "solve" problems in our codebases when he actually doesn't know the programming language. He keeps introducing bugs, graduate level code, and non-functional code that even the most braindead of junior devs could spot at a glance.

@rachel This is why I loved my old Xiaomi phone with the IR emitter that could be programmed to match different devices.

       >"Oh yeah, I made that feature in way that it can only be tested on Linux">We don't get issued Linux computers, nor can we spin up servers, and our shitty laptops have a ton of restrictions on the VM software they can installI'm so glad I'm going to be out of here soon.

I guess I should add to this that the system confuses real matches with FIFA 22 footage and that the "tech experts" keep trying to add 45 files long non-functional AI generated code. Just three more weeks until I leave this fucking burning trashfire of a project. :tiredAkko:

AI Limit seems to be the first anime soulslike that actually tries to put some emphasis on the soulslike part, rather than just being a generic ARPG. It's still pretty easy though.

@newt It's esentially Dark Souls 3 (so basically casual mode on at all times) with the addition of recycled movesets for mobs that have insanely extended range because they couldn't figure out a less shitty way of adapting the combat system to an open world setting.

@newt The bosses all play like regular Dark Souls bosses for the most part (except you can jump now). It's the open world part that is tedious. As for other 'souls-likes'... My experience has been that they all fucking suck in one way or another if you're expecting a similar experience because none of them put effort into making combat or exploration feel the same way.You have to approach them as 'generic ARPG' instead. Or play Sekiro instead, which is not a souls like but it has its own type of combat where it's satisfying to overcome a challenge.

@niconiconi I find it hard to be mad about this when at least 3 of the ISP I've had in my country don't have IPv6 support either.
