Got out of the shower this morning and saw a work email that all the VDIs are down with no ETA for resolution. With remote work out of the question, I hurried to get dressed, get the supplies necessary to sustain a day in the office, and drive into town. When I finally got set up at a desk, the first thing I saw was an email saying the VDIs were back up.

@PhilGastwirth I have the base-model 14-inch MacBook Pro and it's amazing. Best computer I've ever owned. I can run a Zoom meeting for 2 hours off battery and it never gets warm and the battery charge indicator doesn't move.

@PhilGastwirth I would've bought the 16-inch if I could've afforded it. I've heard that people who the new Mac Pro is aimed at are balking at upgrading because the 16-inch MacBook Pro does the job so well. And yes, the M-series processors are amazing. My job gave me a Wintel laptop that I use when I go into the office, and the difference is amazing. The new Macs make the Intel machines look like TRS-80s

So this morning I step out of the shower and notice an indistinct blotch in the corner of the ceiling near the bathroom door. I put on my glasses and saw that it it was an enormous spider, the kind I have a severe phobia of.

We weren't allowed to watch Pee-Wee's Playhouse because my mom thought it was "too weird". She always made us fast-forward Star Trek IV's time-travel sequence for the same reason.
