@benjaminhollon what about things like batteries? As they are dependant on useage and possibly how the end user has treated surely that should be different?

@AnneTheWriter1 @matt @Adam I have the same argument all the time - it is numbers and the familiarity of FB that does it. Many don't want to be bothered starting from scratch. This also applies to X/Twitter

@wjmaggos I keep seeing these posts crop up, and I always ask the clients and it comes down to a couple of things. The numbers aren't in activitypubs favour. Hovering around the million mark puts off many, especially when bluesky is now around 25-30 million and threads which can federate is at 300 million. Next is the choice of an instance. That really puts people off when that is hidden by the others so they don't have to mess around. I am also seeing mastodon tail off again...
