       To all the Micro$oft Windows® users that still don't know about this.  Windows has a somewhat hidden feature, that makes the OS a lot more customizable, less prone to crashes (I haven't seen a BSOD in ages) and thus generally (in my experience) improves productivity.  I've tested it myself on win8 professional, but I've seen it working on all kinds of different versions.  First off, you need a live Linux memory stick, boot it up and click install.

       Just got an HTML email with like a dozen images and each of them had alt text like: “Download images to see the whole message.”  And it wasn't some crappy spam, it was a message from a medical facility.  The audacity to take an accessibility feature and turn it into a useless reminder for the abled is fucking wild.

       How is it that the microwave screams it's speakers out when it's finished, but the kettle goes absolutely silent when the water is ready.  I have forgot to pour over so many cups of tea because of that.
