From what I remember, it's usually grumpy teenagers who threaten to call the cops on people from out of state for trying to pump their own gas.I'll be honest though, I think I'd rather do it myself, just for the convenience, but that's probably because I'm an anti-social America who doesn't want to have to talk to someone every time I go out.

I remember full-service gas stations growing up. Pump then pay, window wash, oil level checks, windshield washer fluid filled as a complimentary, tire air checked and topped off.Was amazing. Then niggers.

Gas stations haven't been around long enough to have a culture. Also they have shops that have literally zero staff except to restock so it's not like a consistent feature of the people themselves. Give me my introvert gas station pump!

Still a few of them down here. They do charge a little more than other gas stations so they are mostly frequented by the elderly. But yeah, the influx of niggers and spics has made them far less common.Never saw one that sang for you though.https://youtu.be/9yTPkWZfWEc

And they will take care of it and there will be no change.Or you signal that you want a full tank and pay them the correct amount, if you have change.But refusing to talk to people would be considered rude and hostile. @WhitestTemplar as a "bule" foreigner, in Indonesia, it is really easy.If you stay silent and just hand them your money they will think that you don't speak one word of Indonesia and they will just smile and do the work for you.But what I do is I often just say full tank in Indonesia and pay them and get the change.They don't really talk that much.However I have not seen any unmanned gas stations, Pertamina, in Indonesia. @CliffSecord @Elliptica @GenesRus
