tabasco is kind of an underrated cocktail ingredient. adds acidity, salt, and a tiny lil kick drinking a glass of 5:1 sprite:moonshine with a few drops of habanero tobasco in it, just about perfect, HOWEVER this "ABSOLUT TABASCO" seems borderline criminal ! who is buying this shitimage.png

@sampler agreed on all accounts. Valid in a cocktail, heretical as a baseline flavor.

@prettygood @sampler I really hope you guys aren't doing shots of the srivodka also this exists because sriracha kicked off an American obsession with safe spicy, probably helped along by goyslop peddlers because it means you can add 10% more sawdust to the rice krispy without people noticing

@sapphire @prettygood not in indonesia. there's the mass-market sugar paste that's marginally spicy (a la sriracha) and smaller house blends (see pic related: mostly mashed up peppers, maybe shrimp / garlic onion, rarely fermented) but nothing in-between or "out there" sour / fermented / smoked sauces are unheard of here , same with fruity sauces or all the other ways things can goimage.png

@sapphire @prettygood used to go to the portland hot sauce expo every year and the weirdest thing is that at least 30% of the dudes there were obviously cops. what's the deal with that?

@sampler @prettygood 1. Hot sauce is “macho culture” in the US currently and cops have little dicks2. See my original comment, cottage hot sauce in the US is really cutthroat, they call cops on each other all the time to try to eliminate the competition because our home/small scale production regulations are all over the place My educated guess
