does anyone know the deal with the data centers using massive amounts of water? I realize that water is a precious resource, and part of the plan is to keep resources from us, but what do they use it for?

Cooling systems for heat exchange, most likely. But, that's a wild guess.

@ThickasabrickCooling, but it cycles through the systems and not much actually gets consumed. Smoothbrains on the internet hear how much water is in the systems and assume that much needs to be added to the system constantly. Running through a radiator doesn't make water disappear from existence.

Someone mentioned yesterday that they could cool with propane instead of water. But, I've yet to look into that.

The question of that thread was why are they building them on farmland. I'll look into the propane thing at some point. And GM Uralista:hug_apu:

proane does work as a refridgerant in a cooling system, it would definitely be more expensive to run a condenser than just use water pumps and radiators lol. then again, fuck datacenters.

Agreed, nothing good is going to come from it.
