       Horses can bite fingers even accidentally when taking treats. A horse could put the entire carrot in its mouth and bite down on the child’s hand. Cattle, sheep, goats only have bottom teeth in the front. They can’t bite a finger off or even a carrot in half like a horse can. There are a handful of safety rules taught to anyone new to horses. How to safely feed treats is one of them. But a child this young can’t be expected to understand and implement that technique. I teach the young kids how to do it, but I wrap my hand around theirs. So if anyone gets bit, it’s me.

       I own mini horses around 300 lbs and they'll step on my boot more than you'd think and even at 1/3 to 1/4 the weight of a normal horse it's blacked my toenail or had me in pain for days.  That's on a 190 lbs man with a leather boot on.
