it's a mild day, so there were only two small emergency calls this morning. i'm making chili.i like to use big chunks of tomato and onion and i add black beans as well as kidney. it's important to me to use organic ingredients that i shoplifted from the jewish owned organic food store downtown - you know the one that hires all those brown people? i can really tell the difference in the quality and the flavor. cooking like this has really helped stretch my monthly food budget and it tastes so good!i like to let it simmer down for a few hours and then i'll eat it tonight with the homemade bread i baked yesterday morning. someone one here suggested that i do the second rise in the refrigerator overnight and i'm loving the results on my 1/4 wheat 3/4 white mix. so much flavor.

Plus one on the extra chunky. 😋 I have no idea how some people can make a small batch. I'll eat on it for a whole week and still put the last half outside for the raccoons and possums.
