Friday morning #headlines recap US-Iran exchange fire in Strait of Hormuz, "ceasefire" in name only. US struck an Iranian oil tanker near Jask, then hit Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Port. Iran's IRGC Navy fired anti-ship missiles at three US destroyers (USS Truxtun, USS Mason, USS Rafael Peralta). Trump called it a "love tap" and insists ceasefire remains in effect. Between Ukraine and the Middle East it’s clear not a single leader knows the actual meaning of “ceasefire”.Iran attacks UAE with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. Air defense intercept sounds heard across UAE. Explosions reported in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. All flights into Dubai and Abu Dhabi held. UAE Ministry of Defense issued air raid alerts. Media blackout followed. I wouldn’t expect a media blackout if the damage was minimal. Counter to CENTCOM’s narrative, all USN ships observed via satellite were near the declared blockade line, not inside the Strait as claimed. IRGC placed the engagement near Chabahar. Meanwhile analysts say that Hormuz traffic remains at a trickle and Iran proved USN can't escort tankers through the Strait using only low-tier anti-shipping assets. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait lift US base/airspace restrictions, Project Freedom restart imminent. After blocking US military access earlier this week, both nations reversed course per WSJ. Trump admin looking to restart Hormuz escort operation "as early as this week". Oil surged on the news. I’m sure someone gamed this information prior to its release. As soon as I typed the previous comment I found the next headline… DOJ and CFTC investigating $2.6 billion in suspicious oil trades ahead of Trump/Iran announcements. At least 4 documented trades including a $920M crude short placed minutes before the latest Axios "peace deal" report. Federal court rules Trump's 10% global tariffs unlawful. A US trade court concluded the tariffs exceed presidential authority under emergency powers. ZeroHedge notes this is a "minor, temporary setback" with Sec 301 tariffs coming. Tariffs only work for protecting viable domestically produced products. For a country that imports everything they are simply another tax on the people. Paper prices lagging reality so much in the oil market that the bidders that win the next round of Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) releases could be facing a 5% loss. US remains a net importer of crude because domestic production is the “wrong type”; exports only sustained by draining SPR. Everything is a giant shell game, or in this case a Shell Oil game. Responding to market madness, Goldman partner warns of "semi-irrational chase mode”. Irrational exuberance by any other name… Microsoft has $80B Azure backlog it can't fulfill because the grid can't deliver power. In a broader view, US data centers have a power shortfall of 11 GW today, widening to 40 GW by 2028. Power transformer lead times sit at 128 weeks. Maybe they could plug illegals into Matrix-style pods to power their AI empires. Moderna has been working on mRNA hantavirus vaccine since 2024. Well isn’t that convenient… Congressional Bikini Model (((Anna Paulina Luna))) says the government could release UFO files and evidence of inter-dimensional beings any day now. Goes against my UFO no-post policy, but the absurdity was just too thick to ignore. Rep Tim Burchett tells Joe Rogan how honeypots are used to entrap and blackmail politicians; a week after Burchett’s comments, authorities busted a major Chinese prostitution ring in Washington, D.C., with clients including high-ranking U.S. officials, politicians, and lobbyists. Congress is full of the Chinese equivalent of weebs?!? Trump to Americans struggling with oil prices: “Even if it's $200, it's worth it”. He’s gone from being tone-deaf to outright hostile toward the citizenry. Tucker Carlson says he told Trump to his face: "Netanyahu hates you. Rupert Murdoch despises you. Ben Shapiro, Mark Levin - they all hate you. The people pushing you into this war want to destroy you on behalf of Israel." And Trump's response? "Yeah, I know." Retard or slave, the outcome is the same regardless. Sen. Ted Cruz went to Israel First megadonor Miriam Adelson's mansion in Las Vegas later this week to receive a "Defender of Israel Award" for his lifelong "commitment to the US-Israel relationship" and relentless efforts to strengthen the "bond" between the US and Israel. He enthusiastically earns his money. Don’t let the bad news get you down folks, spend some time this weekend enjoying your favorite hobby…

Ooooh! That picture just breaks my heart. It seems to be some kind of server room. Do not try that trick in real data center, when the fire extinguishers set you are about to suffocate. :wojak_facepalm_cry: "For data centers and server rooms, the most critical fire extinguisher type is a clean agent extinguisher rated for Class C (electrical) fires, specifically those using agents like FK-5-1-12 (e.g., CleanGuard+) or Halotron. These agents are non-conductive, leave no residue, and prevent irreparable damage to sensitive electronic equipment. Key guidelines for selection and use include:Agent Type: Avoid water, foam, or dry chemical extinguishers as they cause conductivity issues and corrosive residue. CO2 extinguishers are an acceptable alternative for simple incipient fires but require immediate evacuation due to oxygen displacement risks."

Tariffs without subsidies is only a half measure. Consumers will just pay more for Chinese goods if that's the only thing on the market.

I love Microsoft complaining about the backlog but then not doing much to fix the issues causing it which makes me think most of that backlog is either fake, or depends on consumers subsidizing their power requirements.

>Between Ukraine and the Middle East it’s clear not a single leader knows the actual meaning of “ceasefire”.Ceasefires require a mutual moral framework. Somehow, the entire continent of Europe was sundered in two, engaged in a bloody game of red rover with millions of their men. But they still found the time to implement a Christmas Truce. This conflict has a demented retard who is wildly oscillating between fellating pissrael and turning profits on oil shorts. "Negotiating" with a foreign adversary that has suffered multiple leadership losses, and cannot safely fly a peace delegation to a neutral country. How on Earth does a ceasefire manifest in these conditions? Never mind that the next time a chip sets a carrier laundry room on fire, Trump can ask everyone to remember the USS Das it Mayne if it suits his agenda.
