I love my library, they have a free books section where anybody can leave books for people to take for free. Just scored an old 1968 dictionary for free! :blobcat_happypaws:

@missjanedoe I never went in there again. Last thing I expected when I opened the pages was things skittering out. I must have emptied 2 whole cans of bug spray in the house that day.

That sounds like the best kind of library. Mine doesn't have a sense of community. Hardly anybody in the library during the day. They used to have magazines from all over the world & now there are only a few left. The ones that aren't defunct print quarterly instead of monthly now.

Thats sad, I find the library to be a place for finding local information, businesses, resources etc. People leave business cards and it really is a hub of the locals.

I know everyone gets their kicks in on SF, but we have a great library system. They really try to be as accessible to all residents. I'm constantly amazed at what I can find. I now have an extensive classic film collection courtesy of the DVDs I check out.

Libraries are great! People love to crap on them, but the main problem is the leftist ideologies and agendas the liberals that work there push, not the concept itself. Having free access to books and information is always good. We definitely can have a conversation about removing inappropriate and sexually explicit books for children though. And don’t get me started on the sexual deviant storybook hours.
