I think if they assembled the right group of people and they had free reign to do whatever they wanted they could successfully manufacture anything here. I thought Merrell&#39;s Moabs were going to be my new favorite after the first pair I got. The second pair fell apart after a very short time. When the corp (Western Wireless) I was working for got acquired by Sierra Pacific partners so it could more readily be sold to Alltel, there were all kinds of tax-and-regulation dodging shenanigans, including a month when I got two paychecks from Pets.com.
